Making me at times giggle, chortle or outright snort out loud, Edens book ‘Laughing at Myself’ takes you through the minor traumas that are our day to day lives – especially if you are getting on a little bit – to a time before social media, downloading, and the internet – was there a time before Google? With her gentle retelling, you can hear the stories you would have heard down the pub, with all the embellishments and asides. Some stories involve alcohol, others nudity, a smattering of toilets and a fair share of interesting neighbours!
I read this book over a few days, trying to resist the just one more syndrome, and it finished before I wanted it too! My favourite story involves moving house and a couch but I can’t say anymore without telling you the whole story – and that is much better told by Eden herself.
Well worth a look!
